First Grade

Beginning of the year testing is done. Makayla blew it out of the water!! In reading she's expected to be a "2" on their grading scale and Makayla is a 27!!! This is the equivalent of a beginning year third grader. In math she's above average in all areas. We are SO proud!

Tomorrow though, Makayla will be celebrating another achievement. She was given a green slip in school which is awarded to those kids going above and beyond the required behavior rules. She'll be eating with a friend of choice in the "cafe" and her name will be announced over the intercom.

Yes, I believe we have a star on our hands!

Baby Burkette

Well, we've decided on names! We'll ether be having...

Samantha Eileen Burkette

OR

Eli Thomas Burkette

Only three or so more months until we find out which! Haha! First doctor's appointment is this Wednesday at 8:00am. Hopefully we'll have a picture to post of our peanut.

Amy

Back At It

The blog is back. A few changes. I couldn't remember the password to the previous blog site so I reset it only to find out that Hotmail deleted my e-mail account attached to the blog. Oh well... life goes on.

On to more joyous things!

Baby number three is on its way. I won't be going to my first appointment to hear the heart beat and the first glance at that beautiful baby until the end of September so stay tuned.

Makayla is all about first grade! She's easily one of the best in the class if not top in her class. We are so impressed with how well she's doing in reading at home as well as how she soars through her math. Please be keeping her in your prayers for these last few weeks of testing.

Owen is in another class this year where the teacher's adore him (no shock there). He knows his alphabet song and can almost make it to 20 in his counting! Look out school we've got another genius on our hands!

Jon and I are simply enjoying our lives. We've got a LOT going on and little time to get it done but that's not much different from the lives around us. We're happy, blessed and serve an amazing Heavenly Father who is taking us down a path of Faith.

Our Prayer: Father God, teach us to be quick to love and slow to temper. Guide us through this time of waiting and let us lay rest our "what if" worries. Thank you for your love, thank you for your life. Amen.

In Him,

Amy
